COMMUNITY BEYOND CONSTRUCTION

Navigation system for community centers (Euston area)

Community Beyond Construction (CBC) previously called the Curiosity Cabinet project, derived from the ‘Creating Connectedness’ workshops that were held in collaboration with The Loneliness Lab.
The workshops were held by: MAKE @ Story Garden, UAL Central Saint Martins & the Camden Council in collaboration with residents from the 1.5 km area around Euston Station.

CBC is a socially responsive design intervention that reappropriated construction signs from the area and utilizes them as a guiding system for locals to easier find local community centers.

The Euston area will be under construction until 2033 (HS2 estimate), thus alienating residents from the West and East parts of Euston Station.

The project aims to reconnect the East and West parts of the neighborhood, celebrate various local connections, activities, and amenities, as well as spread playfulness and community spirit through a signage system.
